Worn tires are a safety hazard. The minimum legal tread depth is 2/32 of an inch, but safety experts recommend replacing tires at 4/32 inches. Use the penny test: insert a penny into the tread with Lincoln's head upside down. If you can see the top of his head, your tires need replacement. Look for cracks, bulges, or uneven wear patterns.
